FAQs: Do I need to make any repairs before hiring you and listing my home?

by Jason Peterson

📣 It depends. I often recommend an independent seller inspection from a home inspector. A couple hundred dollars will help you confirm the major items that will need attention and most likely will be called out as lender-required repairs from the buyer’s home inspection (due-diligence period). You do not need to make any repairs, but you do need to put yourself in the shoes of the buyer(s) and lender(s) to understand critical items that are expected to work, else you’ll want to prepare for seller concessions if these items are not already accounted for in the list price. 🏡 I will be there with you throughout every step and all negotiations. What is not recommendable is renovating without a proper plan and expecting to achieve a higher price covering the amount spent and then some (it depends). Your home should show well and be desirable for most homebuyers. Use a seller inspection report to guide your pre-listing repair projects – I will help you plan and execute. ✅
